Delicious Seeds, recognizing the strain's clear “people's” success, finally released it in 2020. This hybrid, predominantly sativa (70%), contains some of the best Californian genetics. It emerged from the crossbreeding of Apalachian Kush with Chocolope. Notably, this is not the classic Chocolope known to American consumers but an exotic phenotype specially sourced by the Delicious Seeds team. It contained OG Chocolate and Cannalope Haze genes, which also contributed to the creation of Chocobang.

Chocobang behaves like a classic sativa - growing quickly and energetically into a tall plant with long colas. Flowering takes just 65-75 days, which is quite short for a sativa-dominant strain. Outdoors, it is expected to be ready for harvest by late October, although in cooler climates, harvesting might be pushed to November. The yield is impressive, ranging from 900 to 1000 grams per plant. Indoors, under standard conditions and 600-watt lighting, it produces 500 g/m².
