Mack & Crack Seeds: A Powerful Autoflower with Stunning THC
Bringing Mack & Crack to life has been a long journey, but it has definitely been worth it. Despite requiring some attention, this heavy-hitting strain never disappoints. You’ll be rewarded with an abundance of top-quality buds featuring a distinctive and creamy aroma that delivers a potent high. Here’s everything you need to know about this cannabis gem to help it reach its full potential.
Genetic Background of Mack & Crack
Mack & Crack originates from a wild genetic combination, starting with the exceptional V.K.P (also known as Miracle Alien Cookies). This genetic cannabis, which began with a cross of Starfighter and some unique Colombian genetics, underwent a challenging journey before one seed germinated into a male. This male was used to pollinate a female Alien Cookies, a strain resulting from a cross of Alien Dawg and Girl Scout Cookies, creating a royal lineage of its own. Miracle Alien Cookies was then crossed with Green Crack to produce Mack & Crack. Green Crack is a classic East Coast US cannabis strain known for its ultra-fast flowering and relatively potent buds with sweet and earthy aromas.
Organoleptic Properties of Mack & Crack
Mack & Crack emits a strong diesel flavor with creamy undertones. It's a refreshing funk with enough creamy and fruity notes to add some sweetness to what is otherwise quite pungent.
Morphology
Three out of six phenotypes exhibited significant stretch and lateral branching, meaning they took up a lot of space and grew to about one meter in height. Although these three plants were the widest and most stretched with the largest internodal spacing, they also yielded the largest harvests.
Phenotypes
Mack & Crack displays a range of phenotypes from sativa-leaning to indica-dominant hybrids. Three out of six plants showed significant stretching during flowering, while only one was incredibly short and squat, and the remaining two were somewhere in between. There was a particularly notable phenotype with short, dense growth patterns and large buds completely covered in white trichomes. Overall, Mack & Crack produces a variety of sweet, skunky, and creamy flavors and aromas, with each phenotype showcasing a unique blend of these traits.
Aroma of the Plant
As Mack & Crack matures and produces flowers, it develops a robustly sweet and creamy aroma. As it nears the end of flowering, the deep berry scent begins to blend with the creamy fragrance, emitting an aroma reminiscent of freshly baked pie.
Aroma of Dried Buds
When the buds dry, unmistakable diesel aromas take center stage. During trimming, Mack & Crack consistently reveals the characteristic trashy smells of Sour Diesel, further enhanced by creamy and sweet undertones.
Bag Appeal of Mack & Crack
Some Mack & Crack phenotypes develop various shades of purple, but overall, they have a beautiful vibrant green color. The longer-flowering phenotype features a very tropical green coloration with numerous fine red pistils. Due to the premium buds produced by this genetic material, anyone who gets a bag full of it will be absolutely over the moon!
Effects of Mack & Crack
Expect Mack & Crack to provide a powerful experience. While not heavy enough to glue you to the couch, the effects of this hybrid will leave your mind buzzing and your body completely relaxed. It’s the perfect strain for indica lovers who prefer a daytime smoke.
Yield Expectations from Mack & Crack
All plants yielded well over 150 grams, with one phenotype in particular (the widest one, which was also quite stretchy and tall) struggling to support the weight of its buds and ultimately producing 300 grams. It can confidently be said that Mack & Crack is a heavy yielder with the potential for some exceptionally large buds.
Growing Guide
How to Grow Mack & Crack
Mack & Crack is an extremely easy and forgiving genetic material to cultivate. It happily consumes a lot of nutrients but does not require excessive amounts. Its excess foliage is the only concern for achieving its maximum potential.
Vegetative Stage
Mack & Crack takes 4 to 4.5 weeks after germination to start flowering, during which it develops a strong, sturdy stem with mostly long, stretching branches. Sea of Green (SOG) or Screen of Green (SCROG) methods are highly recommended for indoor growing to manage stretching.
Flowering Period
While Mack & Crack phenotypes showed varying amounts of stretching and thus different sizes, all began flowering at the same time, approximately 4 weeks after germination. Although some phenotypes continued to stretch during flowering, two started producing very thick buds from the outset. All six plants started flowering simultaneously and were also ready for harvest at the same time (85 days after germination), except for one phenotype that needed an additional two weeks. This longer-flowering phenotype was also the sweetest and spiciest of all. If you want your buds to pack extra weight and density, allow certain phenotypes to go up to 15 weeks.
Nutrients for Mack & Crack
These marijuana plants were grown in a standard soil mix with 1.8-2-2.1 grams of dolomite lime per liter of soil as a calcium and magnesium source. Although they did not require any nutrients beyond what was already in the soil during the vegetative phase, they accepted all additional nutrients provided. Extra phosphorus and potassium are recommended during flowering to increase yield and enhance potency.
Top Tips for Small Growers
Defoliation is necessary for larger phenotypes to allow enough light to penetrate the canopy and reach the buds inside the plant. Growers in small environments should be cautious not to sprout too many seeds, as some phenotypes can quickly outgrow the space provided.
Top Tips for Growing Mack & Crack Outdoors
Mack & Crack is very robust and, while it produces compact buds, they are not compact enough to invite mold or mildew outdoors. This genetic material is a good choice for outdoor growers looking for a reliable source of potent buds that can be set and forgotten, then returned at harvest time. For maximum yield, defoliate, defoliate, defoliate!
Top Tips for Growing Mack & Crack Indoors
Indoor growers should be prepared to play Tetris with their grow room to find the most efficient fit for the various shapes and sizes of these phenotypes.
